Two men have been killed in separate road crashes in Meath and Kildare.
A 42 year old man died when the car he was driving was involved in a head on collision on the Dunboyne to Maynooth Road at Castelfarm.
Detectives say the driver and four passengers in the other car were taken to hospital, but their injuries aren't life-threatening.
The road is closed this morning and diversions are in place.
Anyone who was in the area last night is asked to contact the Gardaí.
Meanwhile a man in his 20's died after the car he was driving crashed into a truck on the Clane to Ballytracey road in Co Kildare at around 1130 last night. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Naas Hospital.
The driver of the truck was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital with what are described as minor injuries.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
