A woman in her sixties has died following a crash in Cork.

It happened when the car she was a passenger in collided with another car at Skew Bridge, Tivoli at around 4pm today.

The woman was taken to Cork University Hospital but died a short time later.

Gardai in Cork are carrying out a technical examination of the scene and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

She's the second woman to have killed in a collision on the roads this weekend.

Last night, a 25 year old woman died in a crash with another car at Enfield in County Meath.

The driver of the second car remains in a serious condition in hospital.
