Gardai investigating the serious assault on a man during an attempted robbery in Dublin over the weekend have arrested two men.
It happened at a newsagents on Fitzmaurice Road in Finglas on Saturday morning.
Two men entered the shop at around 8.15am, and assaulted the man who is in his forties, before fleeing the scene empty-handed in a white-coloured 'saloon-type' car.
Gardai say two men - both in 20s - were arrested in the Finglas area this morning.
They are being detained at Finglas and Blanchardstown Garda stations.
