Two men charged with trafficking in North

Two men have been charged with 12 counts of human trafficking in the North after 20 victims of suspected human trafficking were rescued in Co Armagh.

A third man arrested by police remains in custody.

14 Romanian men and 6 women were found at two locations.

The PSNI's Organised Crime Branch conducted searches over a number of days since last Wednesday.

Their inquiries led them to rescue the 20 Romanians, aged between 20 and 48, at two separate locations in Co Armagh.

Translators are being brought in from the UK to help interview the suspected victims of human trafficking.

The Romanians have been taken to safe locations following their ordeal.

Three men, aged 23 , 27 and 31 were arrested and three vehicles were seized.

The men were detained in counties Armagh and Antrim and are being held a the Serious Crime suite in Antrim on suspicion of human trafficking, money laundering, forced labour and slavery.
