Gardai in Dublin are investigating two separate stabbings in the City Centre and in West Dublin.

A man in his mid-twenties was stabbed on Dorset Street Lower at 5.30am

He is being treated at the Mater Hospital and his injuries not thought to be life threatening.

Meanwhile, a man is in a serious condition following a stabbing in Blanchardstown in the early hours of this morning.

Also in his twenties, he was stabbed in Whitestown Park at around 5am.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to both incidents to come forward.
