Gardai in Kerry are continuing to question two men - in their late 20's and early 30's- following a suspected assault in Tralee last night.

At approximately 10.35pm, Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident at Kileen Woods where a man - in his 20s- was discovered unconscious in the front garden of a house.

He was taken by ambulance to Kerry General Hospital where his condition is described as 'serious'.

Two men were arrested near the scene a short time later.

They are both being held at Tralee Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice.
