Two women have been killed in separate crashed in Tipperary and Dublin.
A woman in her early 70s was killed after being hit by a truck in Carrick on Suir.
It happened at around 1pm at Townspark on the Limerick to Waterford Road.
The pensioner, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road is currently closed for a forensic collision examination.
Meanwhile in Dublin a woman in her 80s has been killed after being struck by a car.
The incident happened just before 1 o'clock on the southbound carriageway of the N11 near Cabinteely Village.
The woman was pronounced dead at scene and her body was taken to Saint Columcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown where a post mortem will be carried out later.
The N11 Southbound carriageway is currently closed at Cornelscourt to facilitate a forensic examination.
Diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
