A powerful storm has made landfall in the Philippines.

Over 10,000 people have already been forced to flee their homes.

Typhoon Koppu has produced winds well in excess of 180 kilometres per hour and could bring up to 12 hours of continuous torrential rain.

The country's president Benigno Aquino says his aim is for 'zero casualties'.
