The Oval cricket ground in London has been evacuated after an 'arrow or crossbow bolt' apparently landed on the field during a match.
The incident happened this afternoon during the final day of a Surrey v Middlesex match, which has now been abandoned and declared a draw.
Umpires told players to leave the field after the projectile was spotted, while police evacuated fans watching the match.
Nobody is believed to have been injured.
Met Police say it appeared the object came from outside the stadium.
"We retain an open mind as to motive," they added.
Middlesex Cricket, meanwhile, posted an image of officials holding a suspected crossbow bolt:
