Ukraine's interim president has called for UN peacekeepers to help the country regain control of areas taken over by pro-Russian militants.

Pro-Russian separatists have stormed another police headquarters in the east - ignoring a decree, ordering them to stop.

Western politicians are blaming Russia for the unrest, with EU Foreign Ministers meeting to discuss further possible sanctions.

But, the former British ambassador to Georgia, Donald MacLaren, says sanctions aren't enough.
