The number of dead following a massive earthquake which devastated parts of Nepal has risen to over 1,100, according to police in the country.
Thousands more have been injured in the tremor measuring 7-point-9 on the Richter scale.
Many more are feared trapped under rubble.
The quake triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, which killed at least ten climbers.
The Nepalese government has declared a state of emergency in the affected areas, and is appealing to the international community for help.
