The US military have carried out sixteen airstrikes in Syria - one of the largest assaults against Islamic terrorists.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 23 so called 'IS' members were killed in the attack.

The raids were intended to stop the militants from moving deeper into Syria and Iraq.
