A US couple has come forward to claim a $528 million prize in the Powerball lottery.

They have waited more than six months since buying the lucky ticket in California.

 A lottery spokesperson said the couple had assembled a team of legal and financial advisors before coming forward.

Winners in Florida and Tennesse have already claimed their share of the $1.6 billion jackpot.

The jackpot was the largest lottery prize ever offered in North America.
