Police in the US state of North Carolina have released video footage of the fatal shooting of a black man.

It follows protests over the death of Keith Scott in the city of Charlotte.

Officers claim he had a handgun - but the 43 year-old's wife says he was carrying a book.

The family's lawyer Justin Bamberg says Mr Scott doesn't seem to be acting aggressively in the footage:
