The United States has tightened its security measures at Irish and other overseas airports.

It says it won't allow mobile phones or other electronic devices onto planes bound for America unless they're charged up - for fear they could be used as bombs.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson says these measures are not associated with one specific threat.
