Varadkar rules out inquiry into Cavan baby deaths

The Health Minister says a full inquiry by HIQA into maternity services at Cavan General Hospital is not warranted and a medical review is underway. 

It'Â’s after a baby died at the hospital yesterday, bringing to four the number of infants to die at the hospital in 30 months.

Leo Varadkar spoke ahead of his visit at Portlaoise Hospital, where a number of babies have also died in recent years.
