After 52 days, the Regency Hotel murder trial finished up this afternoon and the judges of the non-jury Special Criminal Court will deliver their verdicts in April.
They'll have to consider whether Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch was one of the two armed men who shot David Byrne during a boxing event at the hotel in 2016.

After 52 days, the Regency Hotel murder trial has concluded. The judges will deliver verdicts on Apr 17.
Gerry Hutch remanded in custody until then. Bail continues for the other two accused men.

Gerry Hutch is accused of shooting David Byrne, a known associate of the Kinahan cartel, at the Regency Hotel on 5 Feb 2016.
In the closing speech yesterday, Mr Hutch’s barrister said the prosecution relied on the testimony of Jonathan Dowdall, a man he described as a proven liar.
Today, the barristers for two of the alleged getaway drivers addressed the judges for a final time.
Earlier this week, Jason Bonney, of Drumnigh Wood, Portmarnock, called two alibi witnesses. One of whom put him at a different location at the relevant times, while the other claimed he saw Jason’s father driving his jeep shortly after the shooting.
Put simply, the barrister for Paul Murphy, of Cherry Avenue in Swords, told the judges the evidence linking his client or his client’s taxi to what happened isn’t there and he warned them they couldn’t find him guilty by association or suspicion alone.
Verdicts are expected on April 17.
