A minute’s silence has been observed across the EU this hour – to remember the victims of Friday’s Paris attacks.
In Paris the President Francois Hollande attneded the Sorbonne University - a location chosen for its historic and symbolic significance.
It was also selected because lecturers and students were among the victims of Friday’s terrorist attack.
A tight security cordon wrapped around the Sorbonne’s main building – with police preventing even pedestrians from using surrounding footpaths.
Public transport also stopped in honour of those who lost their lives in the city of light on Friday.
