Irish band Villagers have won the Album Award for Darling Arithmetic at the Ivor Novellos.

The awards which celebrate songwriting and composing took place in London today.

Adele has been named Songwriter of the Year for the third time. 

Other winners include Jamie Lawson who beat his mentor Ed Sheeran to the prize for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for Wasn't Expecting That.
