1 in 4 Irish women have experienced physical or sexual violence, according to EuropeÂ’s largest ever survey on violence against women.

But Ireland has the highest rate of women not reporting serious violence against them.

Given the latest EU figures, the bookmaker Paddy Power is being urged to withdraw adÂ’s taking bets on the Oscar Pistorius murder trial of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
