Tesco Ireland has confirmed that 350 of its staff have taken up voluntary redundancy.
The redundancies were amongst night-time staff, in what the company describes as an effort to improve customer service.
260 of the staff members chose to move to other positions within the company, with 90 job losses remaining.
Meanwhile, Tesco sales dropped by 5-point-5 per-cent in Ireland over the Christmas period.
The supermarket giant has announced it'll shut 43 unprofitable stores in the UK, after sales there also fell over Christmas.
Business Journalist Ian Guider, says the new Tesco boss Dave Lewis - has vowed to turn the company around.
