Today is Daffodil Day and thousands of volunteers around the country are donating their time to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society.

It is nearly 30 years since the first one - and in that time more than €63m has been raised.

James Gilleran - but today he's known as Daff Man - is out for a 24th time on Dublin's O'Connell Street this year, wearing his unmistakable head-to-toe daffodil costume.

A garden of hope's been planted in Dublin's Iveagh Gardens for Daffodil Day.

Today the Louise Duffy Show will broadcast from the Balcony at Today FM in a nod to Tony Fenton, who succumbed to cancer last year.
