The Dail will vote next week on whether to set up a Commission of Investigation into NAMA.
The motion's been tabled by Fianna Fáil and will be debated next Thursday.
Until now the government has always refused calls to set up a full inquiry into the agency's conduct, and the sale of its Northern loan book.
But opposition parties say the existing inquiries by the Public Accounts Committee won't have enough power to get to the bottom of allegations about how the sale was handled.
