Conditions are expected to remain very cold this morning with frost, ice and fog slow to clear.
Although it will be dry, with hazy sunshine in eastern areas a yellow weather alert for all of Ireland will remain in place until at least 10 O'Clock.
Temperatures will rise to around 3 or 4 degrees celcius later in the day but the cold snap of recent days is set continue until Wednesday night.
