People trust their hairdresser more than police officers - politicians or priests.

Doctors - teachers - judges and scientists all rate highly on the Trust Index while politicians are the least trusted.

People are also skeptical about estate agents - business leaders - and journalists.

Three decades ago the clergy were the most trusted - but that's no longer the case.
