Irish Water charges are among the highest in Europe according to the The Society of St Vincent De Paul.

The Commission for Energy Regulation today outlined a charge of just under half a cent per litre fro charges.

This means a quick shower will cost 24 cent.

A household with one adult will pay an average of 176 euro a year - rising to 278 euro if two adults live there
