After the country enjoyed an Indian summer, it looks like we are well and truly into Autumn now.
Met Eireann has issued a national rainfall and gale warning, with heavy rain and strong winds expected over much of the country for the rest of the day.
The status yellow alert warns of local spot flooding, with the southeast coast the worst affected.
Driving conditions are hazardous, and motorists are advised to slow down.
