Motorists are being advised to drive with extra care this morning following heavy rainfall overnight.

Up to 60 millimetres fell in parts of counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Kerry.

Joan Blackburn from Met Eireann says the stormy weather will continue for the coming days.
