The brother of a former Westlife singer is to run in the general election.
Finbarr Filan, the brother of singer Shane, will run for Renua in Sligo-Leitrim.
The 47-year-old has never run for office before, and currently runs a Centra store that employs 22 people.
The brothers also ran a property development company which collapsed in 2012, leading Shane Filan to file for bankruptcy.
Finbarr Filan says he has firsthand experience of the needs of retail businesses, and wants to help the SME sector by running for office.
