Ryanair passengers will no longer be able to take wheelie bags on board as hand luggage.

From the 1st of November, only a small handbag or laptop case is allowed in the cabin, unless passengers pay for priority boarding.

The airline says it’s to avoid flight delays caused by people trying to find space in the overhead bins.

It's also lowering the price of checked-in bags and increasing the weight allowance to encourage more customers to check in bags and reduce the number of people with 2 bags at the boarding gates.

Ryanair denies the new policy is a money making scam, saying that it will cost them around €50 million in lost baggage revenues.
