Kanye West and his entourage have been to visit Donald Trump at his New York residence, Trump Tower.

Last month, Kanye said he didn't vote in the presidential election, but if he had, he would have cast a ballot for Mr Trump.

The rapper has praised the president-elect's "method of communication" as "very futuristic".

Kanye has also previously said he himself would like to run for the presidency some day.

Meanwhile, outgoing US secretary of state John Kerry has congratulated an oil boss on being nominated as his replacement.

President-elect Donald Trump wants ExxonMobil's chairman Rex Tillerson for the job.

Questions have been raised about his lack of diplomatic experience and close relationship with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
