Paul Murphy of the Anti Austerity Alliance spent 35,000 euro on the Dublin South West By election - which he won.

The Standards in Public Office Commission has released the figures for both the Dublin South West and Roscommon South Leitrim Bye-Elections in October of last year.

Paul Murphy's figures of 35 thousand is the highest.

The most money spent in the Roscommon South Leitrim byelection was by Fine Gael's Maura Hopkins at 29,791 euro.

The successful candidate - Independent Michael Fitzmaurice, spent over 22,000 euro.

The total spend amounted to 287,577 euro.

The Standards Commission found no evidence that any election agent or national agent overspent at the election.
