Researchers admit it's difficult to understand why teenage girls are apparently more "afraid" of maths than boys.

A study in the UK found they suffer more from anxiety over the subject in 80 per cent of countries.

Dr Gijsbert Stoet, from the University of Glasgow, led the research.
