The 'winking weatherman' is set to retire next month.
Gerald Fleming is stepping down as Met Éireann's Head of Forecasting, after 37 years with the meteorological service.
The 59-year-old will retire just before Christmas.
While he has not been a regular forecaster on RTÉ for nine years, he is still fondly remembered for his broadcast forecasts - which were often accompanied by a trademark wink.
He told the state broadcaster he is retiring in good health and will focus on other professional matters.
