Gardai are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary in Dublin yesterday morning in which a young woman was assaulted.
It happened in the Osprey/Orwell area of Templeogue at approximately 11.20am, when a man entered the house which was occupied by a young woman at the time.
She was assaulted during the incident.
The scene has been preserved and technically examined.
The man is described as being of average height, with short hair and aged between 40-50 years.
He's a very thin face, pale skin and was clean shaven.
He was wearing black clothing and he also wore a dark coloured baseball cap and dark sunglasses.
Gardai say he received a number of scratches to his face during the incident and a cut to his right index finger.
Investigating officers are carrying out house to house enquiries and an incident room has been established at Terenure Garda Station.
