A woman has appeared in court in Dublin charged with the murder of 42 year old Tyrone McKenna.
41 year old Merci Peters, originally from Sierra Leone, but currently of no fixed abode, has been remanded in custody.
Judge Michael Coughlan ordered that an immediate medical and psychiatric assessment be carried out on Ms Peters.
Ms Peters was visibly distressed during her court appearance, and said she stabbed the man in full knowledge of what was going on, in self defence, and didn't need psychiatric assessment.
She was then carried out of court by a number of Gardai.
Merci Peters will appear in court again next Thursday.
42 year old Tyrone McKenna, was discovered by his father at a house in Marley Court, Rathfarnham on Thursday evening.
