A post mortem is to be carried out on the body of a woman in her 40's who died in a house fire in Wicklow overnight.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at the house in Monastery Grove shortly before 5 o'clock this morning.
Two children - aged 13 and 15 - managed to escape the blaze.
However, the body of the woman in her 40s - believed to be the children's mother - was found in an upstairs room.
The two children have been taken to Crumlin Children's Hospital.
A technical examination of the scene is continuing. The woman's body has been removed to Loughlinstown Hospital for a post mortem.
