A woman has died after being hit by a Luas tram in Dublin.

She was fatally injured at St James Walk in Rialto at around half 12 this morning.

The scene of the incident was closed to allow a forensic investigation - but has since reopened.

The Coroner has been notified of the death and anyone with any information is being asked to contact Kilmainham Garda Station.
