A woman in her thirties has died in a road accident in County Donegal.

The 33 year old was hit by a van on Main Street in Ballyshannon at ten to two this mornng.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to the Sheil Hospital.

The van driver, a man in his 50's, was unhurt.

The road is closed to allow an inspection by Garda forensic collision investigators.
