A woman in her sixties has died following a stabbing incident at her home in Dún Laoighre County Dublin this evening.
Gardai say the woman was attacked at her house in Clarinda Park East, Dun Laoighre at around 5 o'clock.
She was taken to St. Vincent's hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his 30's has been arrested, he's being detained by Gardai under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Dun Laoighre Garda Station.
Its understood the man was known to the victim.
The house has been sealed off, and Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
