A woman has been threatened with a gun during a burglary in Longford this morning.

A number of men forced their way into an apartment in Market Square at around 3am and assaulted the woman who is in her early thirties.

Her young son was also in the apartment at the time but was uninjured

Gardai are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area between 2am and 6am.
