The Irish Prison Service says it is disappointed to learn of proposed stoppages announced by the Prison Officers Association.
Prison officers at Clover Hill are to stop work for one hour each on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th September.
The action will move to Mountjoy jail the following week.
In a statement this evening, the Prison Service says the course of action proposes to breach the terms of the Public Service Agreements which preclude strikes or other forms of industrial action by trade unions, employees or employers.
