Xbox and Playstation online services are working again after they were hit by technical problems for several hours yesterday.
A hacking group called Lizard Squad says it carried out the attack on Sony and Microsoft's systems.
The companies - which make the games consoles - haven't commented on the hacking claims.
The hack followed the release of Sony's controversial movie The Interview which has played to sell-out crowds at US cinemas.
Terror threats had initially led the company to cancel the release of the film.
The US accuses North Korea of carrying out a previous hack on Sony which has led to increased tensions between the two countries.
The comedy depicts the fictional assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
