If you spend most of your day posting on Instagram it could be a good idea to try make some cash from it.

A new platform aims to help Instagrammers with smaller followings become influencers and be legally compliant.

Takumi - which launched in Ireland today - will put users in contact with brands and advertisers and help them manage their Instagram accounts, invoices and taxes.

Users are pitched an advertising brief, that they can chose to accept if it suits their style.

Anyone who has betweeen one thousand and two hundred thousand followers can sign up.

Takumi will check to ensure they haven't bought followers, match Instagrammers to brands and look after legal matters.

Founder Solberg Audunsson says he developed the platform because people are creating "really great content" on Instagram.

Takumi's technology ensures sponsored posts have the hashtag "ad" to comly with the Advertising Standards Authority's guidelines.

Solberg says targeted advertising using this method can be hugely beneficial for brands and for consumers.

Julie Collier is a stylist and Instagrammer who's been using Takumi to grow her following and her business. She says ensuring sponsored posts carry the hashtag "ad" helps her followers as it makes her Instagram "more authentic".

She advises giving it a go even if you've only got a thousand followers as they'll be "a thousand real people who want to hear what you have to say".
