A distinctive pair of boxer-shorts has led to the jailing of a burglar in Wales.

The robber had broken into a house when he was spotted by the home owner, who noticed that the man's trousers were hanging down to reveal his underwear.

The boxer shorts, with burgers, chips and doughnuts printed on them, were later held up in court in evidence against the burglar.

He was convicted and sentenced to two years behind bars.

Investigating detectives have praised the witness for recognizing the criminal's boxers saying their "vigilance and attention to detail" ensured the man was caught.
