Former One Direction star Zayn's tweeted a picture showing him signing a new record contract with RCA.

The singer, who quit the boyband earlier this year, wrote "I guess I never explained why I left", and adds he wants to show fans the "real me."

Simon Cowell - who signed 1D after they were on the X Factor - used twitter to offer Zayn his congratulations.
