Earworms can be a bit of a headwreck .
You know what an 'earworm' is, right? We're not on about a kind of invertebrate, we're talking about a piece of music that gets stuck in your head long after you heard it.
You find yourself humming it around the house, whistling it at work, singing it in the car - it echoes through your mind no matter what you're at!
Now imagine having one for SEVEN YEARS!?
On this morning's Dermot and Dave, the lads received a WhatsApp audio message from Joanne in Berlin, who's head was melted by this one tune she could only describe through a "plinky, plinky, plonk" chorus.
The two D's threw on their capes and put out the call to the good people of Ireland, who answered in their droves.
There were all kinds of suggestions, from the main part of Mauro Picotto's Komodo:
to Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know:
and even the intro to the CBeebies programme In The Night Garden:
But no joy.
That was until a flood of messages came in suggesting....I'll let Dermot and Dave reveal who it was:
Mystery: Solved! This tune has been stuck in listener Joanne's head for seven years and Ireland - you helped us figure out what it was 🙌We're loving the remix of it too 😂@DermotTodayFM @DaveTodayFM pic.twitter.com/rj2sliBsDI

Unbelievable effort by all involved. Búla bos. Joanne and her mum can now rest easy, yet still sing "plink, plinky, plonk" unbeknownst to themselves for years to come.
Another satisfied listener.
