Unbeknownst to a lot of us back in the day, school lunches are a key part of your education - as is a solid brekkie (most important meal of the day 'n all that).
You need to be properly fuelled to help maintain concentration and energy levels.
But when we think of our younger years, did we actually have any idea (or heed) on the nutrition we were 'meant' to be getting on our lunch break?
Well if we're using the options sent into Dermot and Dave today as a guideline, the answer is...
With a recent survey revealing the top 10 things found in Irish lunchboxes (1st - Fruit, 5th - Vegetables, 10th - Chocolate), the lads asked our listeners what they ate and there were some very dodgy combinations.
Things like Nicki in Termonfeckin's "salad cream sandwiches with just salad cream", Peter's corned beef and curry powder OR turkey and aromat sambos and Nigel in Tipp's favourite school lunch, "a Freddo, 3 cigarettes and a shift down by the bike shed". Living the dream Nigers!!
My school diet mainly consisted of cheese sambos, a packet of crisps and a club milk a day for about 6 years solid. Not very fruitful.
The kids today are defo off to a better start than us we think, but how did you fare out as a young'n? Were you before your time? Or were your snacks even worse than these?
