Roughly one in six couples will struggle with fertility concerns and yet, very few people tend to speak about it.

Recently, Dermot and Dave got this message from a listener.

Hey lads, I just wanted to see if you could look at doing something on fertility problems on the show. It’s a strange and very lonely place to be. We just had another failed round. 1 in 6 couples have a problem with conceiving but I don’t seem to know any other couple, we need to start talking about it. It’s a sensitive subject but we need to be educated on infertility. I’m a male with a low sperm count and it is breaking my heart that I can’t give my wife a child and being constantly asked if you’ve any children is sole destroying. 

Mary McAuliffe is the Head of Clinical Services at Waterstone Clinic and she joined Dermot and Dave to chat about all things fertility from when you should be getting checked to how to deal with the tough realities of struggling to conceive.
