We were in for a real treat on this morning's Dermot and Dave as homestyle consultant Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen called in. And he's one funny man!!
The self-styled guru is in town as part of Bank of Ireland's 'Wherever You Go' campaign so we asked him in for a chat and to possibly offer some advice to our listeners.
Laurence hosted DIY home improvement show Changing Rooms for 15 seasons (1996-2004), a programme which was one of the original TV reality shows.
For anyone not too familiar with it - here's a peak:
The lads chatted about the "realness" of the show and had a giggle about the designer's uncompromising nature. A trait which occasionally resulted in disgruntled homeowners (x3 instances to be exact).
With such a design expert at their disposal, D&D asked the listeners if they needed any help with some of their interior design dilemmas and the textline erupted.
He offered some very solid suggestions for most people, but left a few wondering why they asked in the first place. He's as blunt as a spoon - a very witty spoon.
There was also time to slate Dave's living room issues, tell us why he's be able to take Dermot Bannon in a fight and give a funny story about his lingerie line in China.
Laurence is the type of fella you could sit down and have a laugh with for hours. He loves the craic and knows his way around a house I tell ya!
